Kitty Martone is so far the best 'expert' on progesterone that I have found. She has a blog/FB called Healthy Gut Girl. One of her many bio-hacks that helped me was the following: When you take progesterone orally (under tongue or inside gums/cheeks, you get FAR MORE absorption if you consume some carbs first.
I was always taking progesterone orally on an empty stomach and I had ZERO positive impact. Then I tried eating carbs first....followed by taking the progesterone and BAM! It worked :)
Secondly, applied on the skin is much more consistent dosing. I have found using a high-dose cream (100mg per dose) but applying small doses throughout the day (5-7 times) works best. When I apply twice per day (morning and before bed) the full 100mg dose, I get no positive impact whatsoever. Hope this helps others :)
