Dr. Mercola once again highlights the problems with certain pharmaceutical weight-loss drugs. Consider some factors involved in weight control.

1. Increases satiety and reduces calorie intake

Fiber (especially soluble and viscous fiber) slows gastric emptying and increases the feeling of fullness. This reduces appetite and the total number of calories consumed at the next meal. Furthermore, fiber stimulates intestinal satiety hormones that act on the brain to decrease hunger.

In clinical trials, it has been observed that high-fiber diets significantly increase satiety and reduce spontaneous energy expenditure.

2. Decreases the energy density of the diet

Foods rich in fiber (vegetables, legumes, fruits, whole grains) contain fewer calories per gram, facilitating body weight control. 3. Reduces rapid glucose and insulin absorption

Fiber slows down carbohydrate digestion and reduces glucose and insulin spikes after eating, leading to less fat storage and improved insulin sensitivity.

4. Nourishes the gut microbiota

Fiber reaches the colon and is fermented by beneficial gut bacteria, producing short-chain fatty acids that regulate energy metabolism, reduce metabolic inflammation, and increase satiety hormones.

5. Improves the composition of the gut microbiota associated with leanness

Diets rich in fiber promote bacteria associated with lower adiposity and inflammation, such as Akkermansia and Prevotella.

Regarding the type of fiber:

----Soluble and resistant starch fibers are the most effective for controlling appetite and improving the gut microbiota. Fiber (especially soluble and viscous) slows gastric emptying and increases satiety hormones such as GLP-1 and PYY, thus reducing the amount of energy consumed. • By forming a gel in the stomach and intestines, fiber slows down glucose absorption, reducing blood sugar and insulin spikes and promoting better energy metabolism.

---Insoluble fibers work more by increasing intestinal volume and accelerating transit.

---Fiber fermentation produces SCFAs (saccharide-rich fatty acids) that improve energy metabolism and reduce fat accumulation. https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/microbiology/articles/10.3389/fmicb.2023.1160746/full?utm_source=chatgpt.com (2023).-

The cure is worse than the Dis-Ease. The Dis-Ease, how to manage the cravings of manipulated additions to Ultra Processed Foods with loads of Toxic Calories Empty of Nutrition, with a cure that it has become plain to see just looking at Celebrities who jumped on early to look Slimmer, Skinny. Now so many look like the Walking Dead, there is little need for the Hollywood Movie Magic to appear to look like a Zombie. Just Sayn'

And you're right, Just. Junk food, a sedentary lifestyle, and then the pharmaceutical industry with its drugs to line its pockets. Along these lines, chronic dietary fructose intake, found in many types of food consumed in high amounts, can lead to a decrease in circulating levels of 1,25(OH)₂D₃, independent of dietary calcium. This is especially true in sensitive populations with high intakes of processed sugars, such as children and adolescents. The limited absorption capacity of fructose may explain the high incidence of malabsorption in infants and cause problems in adults. The glucose transporters GLUT5 and GLUT2 may play a fructose-induced role. GLUT2 may contribute to the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by facilitating fructose absorption. GLUT5 may play a role in the atypical growth of certain types of cancer and fatty tissues. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19403716

As Dr. Mercola has reported, a large portion of the population is deficient in vitamin D. Several studies in pregnant women and early childhood suggest that vitamin D deficiency (serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels <50 nmol/L) is common in both population groups. These age groups are the highest consumers of fructose, with a total average intake reaching 2 g/kg/day, which occurs at a time when there is a very high demand for vitamin D during growth.

Glucose and vitamin C use the same transporters to enter cells, and research has shown that high glucose levels can slow or limit the absorption of vitamin C by our bodies. The glucose-ascorbate antagonism theory, proposed by Dr. John Ely in the 1970s, describes the competition between vitamin C and glucose—where elevated glucose restricts vitamin C from entering cells.

Consuming excessive amounts of simple sugars causes increased urinary excretion of chromium. In this study, eating a diet of 35% simple sugars increased chromium excretion from an initial 10% to 300%. This effect has been attributed to the insulinogenic properties of refined sugars and the impact of elevated insulin on chromium loss.

Thanks for fleshing out the comment Gui! What a system. A monopoly on Food Production soaked in toxins. In my book poison is not a food group. Then it is Ultra Processed and it drags us down so we become evermore Sedentary. Our Physical, Mental and Emotional Health runs on fumes and then things are given us to "help" only to mildly cover up symptoms and the decay continues.

I haven’t seen any info about the effectiveness of Ivermectin for sinus issues/sinusitis. Is there any research or experience to guide me?
