Instead of purifying the blood with clean spring water, as our ancestors drank, we are drinking real poison, due to industrial pollution, industrial agriculture, and the pharmaceutical industry. The excessive consumption of clothing, as Dr. Mercola reports, is a major source of pollution. Industrial agriculture, the phosphate compounds found in wastewater or dumped directly into surface waters, come from fertilizers washed out of the soil by water or wind, human and animal excretions, and detergents and cleaning products. Increased algal growth, which in the worst cases can lead to eutrophication of surface waters, is a consequence of high phosphate concentrations. When these algae die, the decomposition processes result in toxins and a demand for oxygen from the surrounding environment that harm the aquatic ecosystem.

There are underground lakes, rivers, streams that could be coming from miles, hundreds of miles away from our homes. Now, even rainwater is contaminated with too many offenders to mention. Also, the way our rural areas have been hit is taking things to new heights preventing an ability to have clean healthy water. Sad state of affairs when just a few hundred years ago people could usually be able to drink out of most rivers, streams without much to worry about. Were we to promote reclaiming the grasslands with Biodynamic Methods, return the organic matter and soil life to the soil, when a 1% increase of organic matter holds an additional 20,000 gallons, just what impact would it have if our prairies were rejuvenated with livestock? Millions of acres ramped back up into the 8% range or more with the soil and its soil life filtering, cleansing the water would likely reduce much of the pollution loads before the water joins any underground network. Even so, there are also things like an area has high concentrates of Iron, Lead, whatnot, just natural background stuff we can not avoid, so even if such a massive regenerative project were to be put into practice, some would no doubt still need some kind of filter. Just not as much coming from sources polluting.
