It is commonly reported that completely eliminating coffee helps many people with psoriasis. Of course, it could be the mold that is commonly found on coffee, and maybe a mold-free coffee would help.

Interestingly, eliminating large classes of food seems to help. A vegetarian diets helps, a low animal-food diet helps, a low fat diet helps, eliminating milk, wheat, nightshades, citrus fruit, chocolate, and many other allergens help.

A carnivore diet is the latest fad for psoriasis, and it seems to work miracles for many. So, how could eliminating all plants cure psoriasis when a vegetarian diet can also cure psoriasis.

A Catholic doctor who survived a German WWII concentration camp said that diabetes and psoriasis were the only health conditions that got better. (Civilians in a Japanese POW camp also reported remission of psoriasis). So maybe psoriasis is caused by eating food.

They also blame psoriasis on cortisone from stress, but a series of studies show that in most people with psoriasis, cortisone levels drop during stress. The researchers said the the adrenals seem to loose their ability to make cortisone, or that something other than ACTH (which rises) is acting on the adrenals.

My conclusion is that instead of focusing on eliminating food and stress, that we should look at the mitochondria and general health. Dr Mercola's latest book may be a good place to start.
