Chronic kidney disease now affects 788 million adults worldwide. Learn the risk factors, symptoms, and 8 science-backed steps to protect your kidney health.
An increased intake of fruits and vegetables in an alkaline diet would improve the potassium/sodium ratio and could benefit bone health, reduce muscle wasting, increase growth hormone levels, improve memory and cognition, and reduce chronic diseases such as nephritis, kidney failure, hypertension, and stroke. The alkaline diet has been used in cancer prevention and treatment. An increase in intracellular magnesium, which is required for the function of many enzyme systems, is another benefit of the alkaline diet. Available magnesium, which is required to activate vitamin D, offers significant health benefits.
The main acidic minerals are sulfur, phosphorus, and chlorine, while the basic minerals are potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sodium. The calcium/phosphorus and potassium/sodium ratios are essential.
Excessive consumption of foods rich in acidic minerals, organic acids, and proteins leads to mineral imbalances. Furthermore, excessive protein intake results in the production of ammonia, uric acid, and lactic acid. All of these contribute to acidification of the body's fluids. Acidic foods include meats, eggs, and grains, while alkaline foods include vegetables, fruits, and nuts. The acids in fruits produce an alkaline reaction when combined with alkaline foods.
Uric acid is the end product of purine base breakdown and can lead to kidney stones. Glomerular filtration efficiency depends on the number of glomeruli functioning. Destruction of these filters causes an increase in blood pressure.
The side effects of oxidative stress are very harmful to kidney and liver function. Uric acid is created when the body breaks down substances called purines, which are found in some foods and beverages, such as liver, anchovies, mackerel, dried beans and peas, beer, and yeast. The main treatments are alkalizing (with citrate or bicarbonate) and diluting the urine (by drinking plenty of water). Most uric acid dissolves in the blood and travels to the kidneys, where it is excreted in urine. Humans lack uricase, the only enzyme that breaks down uric acid; however, intestinal uricolysis has been described.
Higher than normal uric acid levels (hyperuricemia) are most often due to enzyme defects, kidney failure, a diet high in purines, acidosis, diabetes, gout, and hypoparathyroidism.
That is why I stopped taking them, instead relying only on vitamins, organic, sugar free diet. I began this on advice of my country chiroprctor in 2000 when told by Oncologist I would die in 3 months from Lymphoma caused by RoundUp used by a farmer working fields near my house. Thei r4 chemos failed. No specific name for the diet, just clean, organic food, no sugar, seed oils. For veggies, I grew my own, bought from neighboring farms I knew grew pesticide/herbicide free. Eggs from my neighbor! Meat same, farmers raising only grassfed. Now if you listen to commercials on TV, you would not take any of Big Pharma's miracle drugs. They list the side effects, then say only 1 in 10,000 die from them. My reply is But if I am that 1 IN 10,000, I am dead! It matters a lot to me! They always list heart attack, stroke, other diseases that can kill you and alwsys ending with cancer, Lymphoma! Been there, do not care to repeat the experience! Thanks to Gui I now control my blood sugar with Berberine, only going high if I have a pitty party and eat too much ice cream. From my chiropractor I went on to find Dr. Mercola and am still in remission from Lymphoma, did not die in 3 months as predicted in 2000! They discovered diabetes same time but did not treat it right away as I was going to die soon. My healthy diet has kept me in remission, controlled my diabetes. I went from 295 lb to 135! Yes, organic cost a bit more BUT still cheaper, less less health wise! At 85 I still live alone in the woods over a mile from humans, driving my dependable Astro which is still on her original engine, transmission, over 168,000 miles unlike modern cars with a built in expiration date!
You’re an inspiration! Thank God you took matters into your own hands! We’re like you: organic, grass-fed, no pharmaceuticals. Do heavy work, time outdoors, the whole nine yards! I hope to be like you at 85! Thank you for sharing!!
Drs are good for some things, my oncologist was, still is one of top 4 in the country. But she gave me vague answers so I sent a terse email and she replied that most patients do no really want to know the facts. My reply, If i were a general sending troops into battle, wouldn't I send out spies to better their chance of survival? Well this is my battle, I want to know everything I need to know to be successful! Push for answers, if you get a good dr they will then give you answers. She began giving me textbooks she used in her classes at Washington U. I read them, wrote down questions and she answered on our fofllow up visits. I had a private tutor in Lymphology! We got along great after that! Then she stayed with me during my experiment in organic. We both learned a lot during that year. Remember, some things need a dr, broken bones, etc. but you need to not be passive when it comes to your health! I do need insulin for occassional high blood sugar when I over do it , but usually just 4 units. Prayers for your continued success in life, health! Just remember, do not get stupid like I did a couple of years. I got in a hurry, forgot to look where putting my feet and fell. Broke my left arm first year, second, right wrist, both bones and fractured 3 vertabrae in lumbsr region. Now I walk bent over like an old woman had to make a lot of adjustments in doing things. LOOK WHERE YOU ARE GOING and good luck in your journey!
for my hubs, 15 years ago, his right kidney was "filled with cancer". (I've known better for about 10 years). That kidney was removed & allopathic hubby & docs kept yearly check on his left kidney....often finding hubs was dehydrated @ his appointment & never stating the truth about proper hydration & never telling Mr meat & potatoes who got gout a # of times after that 1kidney was gone, that he needs to add lots of veggies & some fruits each day & cut back on meat..turned out chicken, turkey & peas are a gout problem for him...so, now he's Stage 4, getting close to dialysis need & another thing I'm vs...he's on the kidney organ list which will wind him up at the poison care of the medical system & the evil associated with the dear ones they kill & steal organs from.....
When I was in for an Aortic valve replacement I was in a room with a lady who got a new heart. She ws terrified of octact with others, never went to family dinners for fear of catching a cold. Plus she was on 43 pills, first to keep her body from rejecting the new heart, then to overcome the side effects from those meds. Get him on orgnic, sugsr free! It can't hurt, might help!
