I don't know if anyone has noticed but here in South London it's not raining, and not likely to for a few months

How to purify water from a chlorinated pool? Can I use life straw or berkey

Did you get a response on this question. I'd like to know too. It will be stagnant and I imagine soon become unusable.

No not yet. I saw on life straw site they said don’t recommend it. But I’d try if I got thirsty enough https://help.lifestraw.com/article/173-can-i-use-lifestraw-products-to-drink-pool-water

You can make distilled water. First filter the water to remove solids. https://www.bobvila.com/articles/how-to-make-distilled-water/

FindaSpring is pretty useless. I have two within a 1/2 mile of me, one of which has been certified by the state for obtaining water for bottling and selling. Neither spring shows on findsspring map.

Challenging as it may seem, if someone could come up with a reasonably priced solar distiller? There are some made for people who are stranded at sea, but cheap one-time use. A robust distiller would save so many lives. Anybody with skills to build and market one could find it profitable and honorable.

Having worked as a Timber Cutter, (Lumberjack), in the UK Forestry Commission, the only water available was from small drainage ditches, which I used regularly without any problems. Again I do remember someone from Australia tell everyone that they drank water from a farm water tower with no problems. Your body is long adapted to drink water from the surface. Just watch out for smell and clarity. if it has no smell and is clear, it is drinkable.

What about throwing some activated charcoal chunks into some quart water jars of water. Wouldn't that get rid of many impurities-- along with filtering through sand and fabric?
