Supplements may not be able to take the place of a healthy lifestyle, but they can help support health, especially in cases of deficiency. Here are my top 19 picks.
Aging is a highly malleable process that can be modulated in a number of ways, including caloric restriction, intermittent fasting, exercise, and a plant-based diet rich in phytochemicals. Flavonoids directly modulate underlying aging or cellular senescence processes or interact with molecular targets that regulate aging-related pathways.
Two very important senolytics are quercetin and fisetin, which act as anti-inflammatory, chemopreventive, chemotherapeutic and senotherapeutic agents. Quercetin and fisetin have applications in metabolic diseases, cancer, neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory and viral diseases, sarcopenia, bone, joint and degenerative diseases in general, even acting on stem cells.
most friends and relatives of mine think I'm crazy for taking all these supplements but none of them could pass the tests needed to donate a kidney to a very ill relative! but at 66 years old last August I donated my kidney to him and I was told I have great numbers which I monitor? 2 week recovery and I don't miss the kidney? the relative who received the kidney is doing great!
Very helpful. 1000 mg niacinamide was recommended to me as a possible preventative for non-melanoma skin cancer. (Vitamin D doesn't appear helpful for that.) But after reading this, I'll stop. Dr Mercola has a much better track record and his references are available to review. Thank you.
Thank you very much for this. Regarding vitamin D, may I ask what do you mean exactly by "sensible sun exposure"? I'd be grateful if there could be a little more details on this, either by Dr. Mercola or anyone else who knows.
Regarding Glycine, it says that it is anti-serotonin (among other things) and presents that as a benefit. May I ask why is anti-serotonin a benefit? Isn't low serotonin indicative of depression?
This question is switching hats from the supplements being discussed in this thread, however, my mom is 75 and diabetic with a rapid decline in her mobility. She is trying to reduce the insulin with changes in her diet and incorporating exercises into her daily routine such as chair yoga and a sit down cardio bike. Recently she hurt her knee and is having to be in a wheelchair to get around etc. Since starting insulin 20 years ago she has gained weight and not able to get it off, is the alpilean supplement safe for her to take? I am not an advocate for any diet pills yet she buys them without us knowing and I would like to have more information before she starts taking something that could be harmful to her. I have been reading Dr. Mercola’s information for over 20 years now and he has saved my our family from root canals and helped find holistic dentist so I am truly hoping to get some answers from Dr Mercola regarding the alpilean supplement if at any way possible.

This is a great article, I love this stuff!

"If you purchase 1 ounce (25 grams) of the bulk powder it will last you over three years ..."
Any sourcing updates on Methylene Blue?
I love the chart Dr. Mercola created for with food/without food for taking supplements. Does anyone know which is better when taking Quercetin?

Living in the northern hemisphere during winter (Montana), requires one to take Vit D (+K2) to keep your levels up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-U4CD1uKnZA
What about melatonin?
